Aims
The Edinburgh Business Assembly is a strategic partnership between the City of Edinburgh Council, Scottish Enterprise and the city’s private sector. The aim is simple – to work together to ensure future growth and prosperity.
The following points summarise the Assembly’s remit:
- to provide a forum for ongoing dialogue to ensure that public policy making is sensitive to the needs of business.
- to provide a strategic focus in considering issues of common interest for the future development of Edinburgh and its immediate surrounding city region.
- to provide a means for the business community to exchange views with the Council on options for the future development of the city.
- to use its influence to join the Council to provide a coherent approach to lobbying and city promotion activity that is agreed upon.
In pursuit of these aims the Assembly will:
- operate within the Council’s transparent approach, which is supportive of business growth and development.
- produce an action plan which contains aspirations for the city alongside short term objectives and actions.
- normally meet four times a year.
- draw membership from a cross section of the different business sectors in the city and review it regularly.
